Recitals and Practice:
RECITALS:
Recitals performed twice yearly encourage you to focus your efforts, achieve a goal, develop poise, and share music with others. You can be proud of your accomplishment when the music party includes your contribution of memorized pieces, and you know the audience is grateful.

PRACTICE:
Daily practice is essential for progress and to keep frustration at bay. Make sure to practice everything on your weekly lesson assignment daily. You may also divide your practice time into two segments so you do not become tired or distracted. Parents need to sit with the student during daily practice times until s/he reaches age 10.

Practice techniques include establishing a quiet room at a routine time, setting small reachable goals, using consistent fingering, using the metronome and increasing speed only when ease and mastery are consistent, and listening to the sound you are making and analyzing your own progress. Have an attitude of enjoyment and watch yourself get better and better!
